In the previous article we looked at a special tool, namely hinge tool, designed specifically for curling sheet metal.

Here we continue with another special production: the Rod Bending Tool. We are talking about a tool created specifically for bending rods and round bars with the press brake, up to a maximum diameter of 10 mm.

Rod bending.

A rod or round bar is a steel element with a circular cross section often used to make concrete reinforcement (rebar).

Standard sheet metal bending tools cannot be used for this type of bending; instead, tools specially designed for this task are required.

In addition, the processing of rods and round bars is delicate: to avoid the risk of damage and breakage, it must be done gradually and with high-quality tools.

Rod Bending Tools.

This is a tool that must be strong enough to succeed in making the bend, but at the same time be soft enough not to create scratches or dents in the piece.

Eurostamp Tooling's Rod Bending Tools.

Eurostamp Tooling has developed a new series of tools created specifically for rod bending: the Rod Bending Tool. Let's see it together.

The lower part has treated drag rollers that, as they rotate, accompany the bending process without leaving abrasion or rubbing on the rod itself.

The upper part is radius shaped.

Like all Eurostamp Tooling's bending tools, Rod Bending Tools are made from Italian-sourced, carbon steels with induction hardening on the wear parts. This special treatment guarantees our products a hardness of 55-60 HRC. We control and monitor at every stage and detail all standard and special codes to evaluate their performance and ensure the highest quality and efficiency: grinding wheels, and working speed and, piece placing and dressing.

Advantages of the Rod Bending Tool.

Adaptable. Possibility of mounting on Wila or Promecam attachment.

Efficient. As the rod diameter changes, only the rollers need to be changed, or in the case of special diameters, by building a special die body.

Durable. Punches and dies are hardened in such a way as to resist wear damage for a long time.

In addition, using a special tool, i.e., made specifically to best suit a specific type of machining, allows faster processing and, therefore, higher productivity.
